Us
Leisure started with three friends talking about making a natural wine. None of us had a vineyard, but we decided to do it anyway.
We started in a cold barn outside Edinburgh and now we have graduated to a cold industrial unit off the Old Kent Road next to a nice tray factory.
We add nothing and take nothing away.
This means we deal in spontanious fermentation and the best fruits that we can find in season year to year.

Crushing Grapes
This is Sam crushing Essex Chardonnay grapes in Scotland. After driving them overnight to the Free Company farm in Balerno we de-stemmed and stamped on 750kg and left them on skins for 7 days before pressing. It was under ten degrees which meant that our feet were real cold, but also that the fermentation was slow and steady, producing some pretty wild flavour.
Juicy juicy Sangiovese
Grapes from Puglia picked by hand and driven furiously across Europe in chiller trucks landing finally Old Kent Road. 7 days carbonic maceration and then we’ll see how the juice tastes…stay tuned, big red standing by...
I Saw Custard Creams Fall Like Lightning
Our first release. Low intervention, 100% Chardonnay. Grapes from Essex, stamped and pressed in Edinburgh then bottled at our new winery on the Old Kent Road.
